Nothing quite so frustrating as just wanting to go home after work and relax, and being without power for hours. Sure, I could have used it as an excuse to go to sleep early, but I didn’t want to sleep. And I don’t own nearly enough candles to pull of anything so relaxing as a candlelit bath. I think I’m ready for next week now; this one’s not really an improvement.

This weekend I had to go through a closet of things…I found a stamp collection which no one seems to be quite sure about. A Sega Genesis 16/32 bit, and a box of games. An Atari and box of games. Some pictures of me as a kid. And my high school yearbooks and a photo album of someone I never want to see again. My mother is bound and determined that I may want it. Someday. No day, in this life, can I see that happening. So I told her she could keep it, as I’m not about to waste closet space on it. Bad enough it mucked up my weekend.

Tonight, went to Olive Garden, waited 40 minutes for a table. Next spent 5+ minutes watching my...

Tonight I… Locked myself out of the apartment and had to get my sliding door derailed. Ate way too much. Spilled coffee all over the coffee table, dousing a lot of absorbent bamboo accessories and a new book, among other things. Knocked over my water bottle about 10 times, but it’s largely spill proof. Played some awful hands of Yahtzee. Yep. Fitting end to the week.

I have to say, I am really, really glad to see Tony Stewart’s take on this. I haven’t been a huge fan of his in recent years, but maybe the new team and car have been helping his attitude. Because this is what I keep saying.

“I think it’s pretty exciting that an organization has been able to be that good for that long. That’s a compliment to what they’ve done. I think too much effort has been spent looking at the negative side of it, which there really isn’t, when all the guy has done is gone out there and done what he’s supposed to do. He’s gone out and done what we’re all trying to do.

“I think what he’s done has been under-appreciated, in my opinion.”

When asked to make a case for Johnson winning No. 6, Stewart reacted with mild incredulity.

“How do you bet against him right now?” Stewart asked. “When a guy has done it five times, what basis would you have to bet against him? That’s the argument.”

In my ongoing bookmarking search, today I decided to try out zootool. I imported all of my delicious things easily enough, but find the limit of 20 packs to be not enough for my librarian brain. It’s too limiting. If I’m going to group things, I want subgroups. And as many groups as I need. If Pearl Trees weren’t such a nightmare to navigate when you have 5K bookmarks, I’d just use it.
